Wikipedia is a fantastic resource. As well as a great encyclopedia, it is a gold mine of information placed in an organized structure. I’ve long been interested in how this could be exploited for applications beyond the encyclopedia; something which is allowed for in site’s Free Documentation license.It seemed to me that a general knowledge quiz would be a superb alternative use for the data, so I set about to make a Wikipedia quiz, or ‘Quizipedia’. Mining Wikipedia would result in an array of questions from geography, history, entertainment, sports and science; in fact across all areas of human endeavor and study across the globe.
