Ministro della salute, per abbassare la pressione sanguigna, sprona i brasiliani a fare più sesso

Brazilian Health Minister Jose Temporao is advocating that frequent sexual activity can help to lower high blood pressure

Brazil’s health minister has a remedy for the nation’s high-blood- pressure problem: More sex.
Minister Jose Temporao says adults should be exercising more to help keep their blood pressure down — and he says a good cardiovascular workout includes sex, “always with protection, obviously.”
According
eCanadaNow, Minister Jose Temporao also recommends dancing (nice video), a healthy diet and regular blood-pressure checks.
The minister made the comments Monday while launching a national campaign against high blood pressure in the Brazilian capital of Brasilia.
The
Health Ministry says that 20 percent of Brazilians had high blood pressure in 2006. That jumped to 25 percent in 2009.
According Aolnews Brazil’s hypertension problem is only slightly less severe than that in the US, where around 32 percent of Americans have elevated blood pressure levels.
But while American experts stick to more conventional remedies, like gym time and healthier food, Temporao’s tip might actually be a worthwhile suggestion.
In one small 2006 study of 56 men and women, sexual intercourse was associated with less intense surges in blood pressure during stressful situations.
Women can even experience a reduction in blood pressure after a simple romantic hug.
And sex has other health benefits: It alleviates stress, seems to boost longevity and reduces one’s risk of heart attack.
Sex also burns calories — about 170 an hour — and a lower body weight is directly linked to healthier blood pressure levels.
