Don't buy Windows 7 for a year, advises The consumer magazine Which?

Users will spend next 12 months downloading patches and updates, warns expert

Windows 7, Microsoft’s new operating system, goes on sale today, and computer users have already placed more pre-orders for the software than they did for its predecessor, Windows Vista.
But Which? has advised shoppers to wait before splashing out on Windows 7, saying it could contain glitches. "Software bugs are par for the course for newly released programs, and operating systems are no exception," warns John Bogue, an expert with Which? Computing. "Unless you like donwloading patches and updates, we recommend waiting a year." Full text
